Tony Caputo’s Market & Deli is Salt Lake City’s leading purveyor of distinctive Regional Italian and Southern European foods. Located in the same building as Carlucci’s Bakery and Aquarius Fish Market, it is a regular stop for “foodies,” lunch patrons, and cultural enthusiasts alike.

Proprietor Tony Caputo and his son Matt, are renowned for their delectable selection of authentic food products from Italy, Spain, Greece, France, and local artisan producers.

In addition to the vast array of olive oils, olives, pasta, vinegars, antipasti and thousands of other specialty grocery items, Caputo's has recently made the following major advancements toward solidifying their position as one of the best specialty food markets in America:

Cheese Cave: Caputo's state of the art cheese cave is one of only a handful in the country. Many complex systems are set in place to replicate the perfect environment for aging cheeses. It allows Caputo's to offer over 200 perfectly fresh farmstead cheeses. Cheese fanatics are welcome to drool as they peer through the huge glass wall into the cave.

Chocolate Central: Caputo's offers the largest selection of ultra premium chocolate in the United States, with over 300 different chocolate bars, including those most respected chocolatiers. Our formidable “chocolate file” contains samples of the world’s best bars.

Caputo's is also the exclusive outlet in Utah for the best filled chocolates in the U.S., Chocolatier Blue. A gorgeous beveled glass case houses Chocolatier Blue's hand-made jewel-like masterpieces—each made from the world's best ingredients, including Italy’s Domori chocolate, a 77% butterfat, unpasteurized cream, fleur de sel sea salt, and organic fruits and nuts.

Old-World Butcher Shop & Salumi Maker: With over 14 types of proscuitti and dozens of salami (such as Creminelli and Salumeria Biellese) and housemade delights from in-house butcher and cured meats wizard Frody Volgger, Caputo's can claim the best cured meat selection in Utah and, possibly, in America. In addition to succulent prosciutto, flavorful Serrano, and artfully cured salami, peruse the fine smoked meats such as Speck, luxurious pancetta and guanciale, and more.

Caputo’s also proudly features fresh meats cut by Frody Volgger from the area’s best pasture-raised, heirloom breed animals from respected producers like Snowy Mountain Sheep Creamery, Christiansen Family Farms, and more.

Sandwich Deli: The Deli is a bustling neighborhood lunch spot where customers for the award-winning selection of made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and pasta. Sandwiches are prepared on crusty Italian peasant bread, focaccia, or ciabatta, and with high quality meats and cheeses and other Regional Italian and Southern European ingredients fresh from our market.

The signature sandwich, “The Caputo,” has been named third best sandwich in America by FHM magazine. It has also been awarded the title of best sandwich in Utah by the American Sandwich cookbook. The Meatball sandwich was picked as one of the top ten sandwiches in America by Unlimited magazine.
